Mr. Duong
Hi! I'm Mr. Duong (pronounced "Young")! And I am the Media Specialist here at Memorial Elementary. I've been with the district for 20 years. I started out my career as a Language Arts teacher for 7th and 8th graders and then was a campus technologist at Poe Elementary for 13 years. I graduated from the University of Houston, where I earned my degree in Communications with a focus on Media Production and my minor was Creative Writing.
I'm looking forward to my second year at Memorial! This year, not only will I continue to teach the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, but I'll also see the 2nd grade classes (every other week)! We'll not only will the students check out books in the library, but they'll also learn how to type. We'll cover most things technology-related, including:
- Internet Safety
- Media Literacy
- Creating stories and projects with AI tools
- and more!

Qualifications: Bachelors of Fine Arts/Multimedia Production from the University of Houston Central Campus Minor in English: Creative Writing HISD Certified Campus Technologist Certified Teacher, Generalist 4-8 (Language Arts, Math, Science and History)
